Robert Wild, President and CEO of NIEHOFF Endex North America (NENA), was honored with the WAI President’s Award for 2023. Kurt Breischaft, President of the Wire Association International (WAI), said “that Wild’s career has shown him to be an utterly dependable person who has excelled for both his employer as well as the WAI.”
Robert Wild started his professional career in 1990 as a trainee at the headquarters of Maschinenfabrik NIEHOFF in Schwabach, Germany. From 1993 to 1998 he served as an assistant manager responsible for sales and marketing, then he became an area sales manager. During this time, he was also responsible for the launch and the successful development of the NIEHOFF customer magazine. In 2004, he was appointed president and CEO of NIEHOFF Endex North America Inc. (NENA), the North American subsidiary of Maschinenfabrik NIEHOFF. Soon thereafter, hebegan to support activities of the WAI. He was named a member of the publication committee of the Wire Journal International, and since 2019 he has also been serving as a member of the WAI Board of Directors.
In a laudation on Robert Wild’s appointment it says among other things about him: “His global perspective combined with his intimate knowledge of the North Amercian industry was critical as the Board developed conference content and managed through the Covid disruption. He has had a strong presence, asking questions that pinpoint potential pluses and minuses of issues that relate to the Association’s trade shows. At the same time, he has continued to be a passionate advocate of the WAI’s educational mission as well as its other products and services.”
